Who We are
The International Council for the Education of People with Visual Impairments – Africa (ICEVI Africa) is one of the seven regional members of ICEVI Global.
ICEVI was established in 1952 as a professional non-governmental organization bringing together individuals and organizations to promote equal access to appropriate education and rehabilitation for people with visual impairment so that they may achieve their full potential.
ICEVI Africa seeks to interpret and further the goal of ICEVI within the African continent by ensuring that all children and youth with visual impairments have access to quality education and related services.
In 2019, ICEVI Africa was registered as an international non-governmental organization by the Kenya Government, giving it a legal status and mandate to set up its headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya.
